About Us

Founded in 2023, Polyphonic is a record label that wants to stand out, by listening to your voice, the artist's voice. We’ve seen so much distrust in the business, so many scummy underhanded tactics and that’s what we’re here to change, we want to listen, we want to work for our artists, not the other way around. We’re not a big company, but that works to our advantage because it means we can take the time and effort to listen to and help the artists in our roster. We see music as a form of art, and said art should never be subject to the greed of the label it's released under. In a world of money, we care about the music, and about the artist.
Musically, we're all about diversity, a lot of our artists come from different genres and backgrounds, and that's what we're all about
Polyphonic is for the weirdos, the artists who's sounds don't fit into genre norms (or gender norms), so if you think that's you, get in touch!
I could yap for days about our goals and stuff but David from IT would probably kill me for filling up the about us page, so I'll leave it at that... for now! But you don't have to take my word for it!

What do people actually think of us?

"I've always been an independent musician, dreaming of being a more popular one, but as I aged into maturity, I started realising how malicious an established record label can be. From charging artists for unsubstantiated extra fees to owning the music to the point where they cannot control their work. Polyphonic was different. I was familiar with Parker, the director of Polyphonic Records, way before it was anything that would have materialised, but when I was given the opportunity to join the label at it's early stages, I was all in. So far I haven't had major issues with Polyphonic, nothing that wasn't caused by a distributor rather than the label itself. The music industry has a lot of issues and it's tough to work around them, but I respect the work being put in to get around these issues as best as they possibly can. You may not get the perceived benefits of an established indie label or massive corporate label, but what you do still keep is your music, and your dignity."
-Vivenne Fourie (SpectraViV)

"Being the head of the label, while at the same time being the artist, I understand the struggle of labels not hearing you out, or making you sign almost all your rights to your music away! That's why I started Polyphonic. Well, that and my weird style of music, I can't exactly label any of that! But our biggest goal is to be for you, for the artist. The person reading this right now, thinking 'hmm, this label seems cool, but do they really care about me?' Yes. Yes we do. Artists have been, and always will be, the backbone of the music industry, without you, we are nothing. And that's something the big labels seem to have forgotten, not us. We will never forget that."
-Parker Morse (The Forbidden One)

"I'm happy to be working with Polyphonic, they're really good about making sure the artists get as much out of their own music as they can, and I like that about them."
Eira Owen (eirameeso)

"Working with Polyphonic has been quite a fun experience, it's nice to be able to do what I enjoy while supporting a small label"
-David Morris-Noakes (Head Of IT)

"Whilst working with Polyphonic, I have learned new things and have lead the charge on a lot of backend systems projects that are still ongoing. However the AD can die!"
-Ben Rashbrook (Secondary IT Wizard)
